THE DARK *
I’ve been where you are;
That dark place you call home.
I too have surrendered there,
Just to be alone.
I too have not wanted to leave,
When I know I’m meant to.
I have let the darkness in and please me,
Like it tempts you.
I had heard the muttered sounds,
Long before the lights went out.
Just like you had lost your empty voice,
Straight unto the point of south.
I have been here before you, friend.
My name is already on the wall.
I know your very thoughts because,
I have seen it all.
That’s why you come here, I know;
A place where no light grows,
So you can hide your face from light,
And finally be exposed.
